Patience

"Hope is patience with the lamp lit." ~ Tertullian

As I age, patience seems to me an easier friend to call upon, but I always need to consciously remind myself of its benefits and its rewards. I've learned that distracting myself from things that I can do nothing about at the moment, makes time sweeter and life richer.

patience
can't get here fast
enough for my use of
its benefits. please hurry up,
now please.

  1. I think that's an important part of patience, that distracting ourselves while waiting. It does have a way of filling up time beautifully with meaning, rather than frittering the minutes away.

  2. Never been my strong point, but you're right: it gets easier with age.

  4. I have grown less patient as I've grown older. Guess I need to work on it.
