Rock-A-Bye

"Saying goodbye doesn't mean anything. It's the time we spent together that matters, not how we left it." ~ Trey Parker

the tears seem in endless supply
as she wishes the hurt away
the emptiness is nothing but a lie
the oppressive pain is present today

as she wishes the hurt away
she rocks herself back and forth
the oppressive pain is present today
and she wonders of her worth

  1. Hope you don't mind...can't agree with the quote. How we leave it is intrinsically tied to the whole experience. On the other hand, somehow we all have to get to the point where self-worth stems entirely from one's own sense of integrity and not from someone else's actions/opinions.
(Easier said than done, I know. Pain has a way of incapacitating, whether physical or emotional..) This is a nice piece, but sad!

  2. Seems like some pain
    creeps past our best defenses
and seeps into the lonely places
    like floodwater finding valuables.
    Sounds like it's time to
    get some healing done.
    With you,
    Jennifer

  3. Thank you so much for the support sweeties!
li, I disagree with the last part of the quote too...leaving things on a good note is always best.
Jennifer, very beautifully said, thank you.

  6. Your reflections remind me of cherishing the moment and the relationships around you that matter.
